Hawthorn Handmade was founded by Stephanie Carswell in Dorset, England, after she discovered a love of needle felting while running her own gallery and craft workshop. Frustrated by the lack of modern, beginner-friendly kits available, Stephanie designed her own collection and launched Hawthorn Handmade in 2013. What began with six needle felting kits has grown into one of the UK's best-known craft brands, inspiring thousands of people to discover the joy of making by hand.

Today, Hawthorn Handmade designs and makes its award-winning craft kits from its Dorset studio, surrounded by the countryside that inspires many of its nature-themed designs. From needle felting and embroidery to cross stitch and weaving, every kit includes premium materials and detailed step-by-step instructions, making it easy for beginners to learn a new skill while creating something beautiful they'll treasure for years to come.
