Make a colourful tribute to Niki De Saint Phalle with this Cut & Make Puppet Kit by Wini Tapp. A French-American artist, sculptor and filmmaker, Niki became known for challenging artistic conventions with work that explored femininity, power and social issues. Her best-known creations include the exuberant Nanas, a series of monumental female figures decorated with vivid colours, graphic patterns and playful forms.

The illustrated puppet captures Niki’s unconventional creative spirit through a vibrant patterned dress, green gloves, red shoes and an elaborate snake headdress. Each piece is printed on durable FSC-certified 350gsm cardstock, ready to be cut out and connected with the included brass split pins.

Follow the straightforward instructions to assemble your own articulated Niki De Saint Phalle paper puppet. The movable arms and legs can be arranged in different poses, while the completed figure measures approximately 32cm tall. Hang your finished puppet directly on the wall or display it in an A3 or 8 x 10 inch frame. A deeper shadow box frame creates a particularly striking piece of art-inspired décor.

Illustrator and educator Louise Burgess founded Wini Tapp in Hastings, East Sussex. Her collection began with articulated puppets created for children attending an art workshop, where she soon discovered the designs also appealed to creative adults. Louise now illustrates, prints and packages every Wini Tapp kit herself, producing an imaginative range of DIY paper puppets inspired by renowned artists and cultural figures.
